It's a dog's life

My name is Paula von Bulow and I am the only boxer dog in Oxfordshire with doctorates in Human Behaviour, Theology and Evolutionary Biology. I am planning to do further advanced studies in the coming year, particularly languages.

My academic progress has been constantly handicapped by interruptions from very demanding cats (you'll hear much about Emma and Lucy) and from the rest of the family in this house. Unfortunately they read a book on "dog whispering" before my arrival which has led to endless games. He really thinks that going out through the door ahead of me asserts his alpha male status, when in fact I allow him this little concession to his vanity. It's all rather pathetic really.

What makes it all worthwhile is evenings spent on the sofa, with a log fire, the occasional wildlife programme on TV and cuddles from the one who understands me most. more about her later!

Why have I started this blog? I'm hoping it will give me an audience for my writing and ideas. I also want to share my thoughts from a dog's perspective because we just don't get the opportunity to comment on the things that matter to us. I'll try and keep my diary on a daily basis, probabaly writing after my morning walk when my mind is clearest. I think you may be surprised by some of the observations I make!
